Hi-Vis Women Australia is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering positive change and celebrating women in the building and construction industry.

Hi-Vis Women

Hi-Vis Women Australia is a social enterprise created in 2017, dedicated to empowering positive change for women in the building and construction industry.

Despite equality legislation and initiatives, there has and still remains, gender disparity in the building and construction industry. Women are under-represented and often face cultural, social and structural barriers.

This under-representation leaves a lack of leadership and role models for women: which is why we want to work with government and businesses to make building and construction a natural career choice, regardless of gender.

We recognise the importance of mentoring as part of this process across all industries, suppliers and businesses that contribute to a new build. We want to create real outcomes, and our first challenge is raise cultural awareness by addressing bad behaviour in the workplace and we believe the best way to achieve change is from the ground up with apprentices, students and entry level employees.
